Some interesting legal developments are likely to impact the next Superman film. As reported by Variety, the family of Superman creator Jerry Siegel has been granted additional rights over certain aspects of the Superman character. Also, Warner Brothers, the home of the Superman films, will lose its right to make [...] As cruel as it may be, it is hard not to compare Michael Mann’s new film to his cops and robbers classic, Heat. And, surprisingly, Public Enemies holds up quite well. It lacks the lyricism and depth that makes Heat so rewatchable, but as a straightforward action-drama it works exceedingly well.
Superman Returns is a much-maligned film. While it certainly isn’t perfect; Kate {cough} Bosworth {cough}; for my money it is one of the best blockbusters of the past ten years. [...] |
